ABOUT ABOUT

The June Givanni Pan African Cinema Archive is pleased to be collaborating with Stockwell Park Community Centre and London's Screen Archives to present a selection of films which portray various communities settings on screen in London and beyond.

The programme selected attempts to highlight the ways film provides a unique medium through which filmmakers can empower communities to tell their own stories which would otherwise remain obscured or forgotten.

The film programme has a total running time of 70 minutes and will be followed by an open discussion in the screening room to give space to those in attendance to reflect on the works they have seen.

As a living archive, the June Givanni PanAfrican Cinema Archive invite audiences to form an interactive relationship with items within our archive on display at our events, using them as tools to spark discussions on the films we will view together.
